  3. Are you talking about the Tales From the Crypt episode where Don Rickles plays a ventriloquist whose "dummy" turns out to be a murderous half-formed twin? Because that was great.

  5. so what you are saying is that H.P. Lovecraft is the inspiration to all of the X-files, Tales from the crypt and Basket Case?

  6. Barnum, it was season 2 episode 20 "Humbug" (31 March 1995) guest starring Wayne Grace (Sherrif Jim-Jim the Dogfaced Boy), Michael J. Anderson (Mr. Nutt), Vincent Schiavelli (Lanny), and Jim Rose (Dr. Blockhead) & The Enigma (The Quandry) of the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow.

  7. haha I wish. Although, the Tales From the Crypt comic borrowed from Lovecraft I don't know if any of those stories made it to the tv show. And the Commonplace Book isn't really normal Lovecraft material.

  8. Slim, HPL has inspired a lot of things, including the entire careers of several later authors (such as Stephen King); and The X-Files never had an original plotline for any episode (nor much scientific accuracy, either). I can't speak to Tales from the Crypt or Basket Case, though, as I've seen neither...
