"Vast, Polyphemus-like, and loathsome, it darted like a stupendous monster of nightmares to the monolith, about which it flung its gigantic scaly arms, the while it bowed its hideous head and gave vent to certain measured sounds. I think I went mad then."
H.P. Lovecraft, Dagon

"It was called, she said, "The Esoteric Order of Dagon", and was undoubtedly a debased, quasi-pagan thing imported from the East a century before, at a time when the Innsmouth fisheries seemed to be going barren."

"'All in the band of the faithful - Order o' Dagon - an' the children shud never die, but go back to the Mother Hydra an' Father Dagon what we all come from onct ... Ia! Ia! Cthulhu fhtagn! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah-nagl fhtaga - '"
H.P. Lovecraft, The Shadow Over Innsmouth

"Dagon his name, sea-monster, upward man
And downward fish; yet had his temple high"
John Milton, Paradise Lost

  1. Great as usual. But: Didn't we have Dagon some time ago?

  2. Yeah we did, but I wanted to redo the color, add more detail and correct the fact that I didn't make it "Polyphemus-like" aka one eyed.

  3. Oh, this I muchly like. Thanks for giving me something to gibber about on a meh Tuesday morn.

  4. Awesome image ( as Always)... This Being ... mostly its "followers" are a Major part of the D&D game that I am running for some friends,.... A great day to you good Sir ...
Your "fiend" and faithful follower ... the Doctor....
And I liked the Hecate post as well ... "Goddess of the witches... the primary sacrifice unto Her was a large black dog upon Her Altar... The high priest wore the skins of the previous sacrifices in layers during their ceremonies to pay homage the the Goddess

  5. This Dagon actually looks more awesome than before, though I am gonna miss the original design. Anyways welcome back. Still psyched to see the new arrivals, O Yog.
