HORRIBLY DISTORTED BIRD

HORRIBLY DISTORTED BIRD
"He dreamed of great birds that fought and tore, birds with horribly distorted human aspects; he dreamed of monstrous beasts; and he dreamed of himself in strange roles."
H.P. Lovecraft & August Derleth, The Lurker At the Threshold

  1. "fought and tore" is a phrase repeated through several mythos stories. Dinosaurs of such size they had NO right to exist, winds, etc.

Virtually all of "Lurker" is Derleth. The Lovecraft texts were merely incorporated into the opening pages. One was re-used in "The Watchers out of Time" which was never finished and I can't guess what was to happen next after it abruptly stops.
