"Later, as the earth's span closed, the transferred minds would again migrate through time and space-to another stopping-place in the bodies of the bulbous vegetable entities of Mercury."
H.P. Lovecraft, The Shadow Out Of Time
This is one I did almost a complete overhaul of. I kept the pitcher plant head/mouth but the rest of the body is completely new. I wanted to show an actual plant bulb as the body with roots for legs and leaves/vines for appendages. the colors are also more vibrant and the movement is more elegant. I'm much happier with the new version.
The Shadow Out Of Time was originally published in the June 1936 edition of Astounding Science Fiction Stories with a cover & interior illustrations by Howard V. Brown.
Of the monster lineup in this interior illustration, I'd say the guy fourth in from the left is the one that seem most like a Mercurian Vegetable Entity.
Tomorrow's creep is from one of HPL's most famous stories!
