GIANT WALKER

GIANT WALKER
“Storch stared out over the army of creatures that fluttered, staggered, stumbled, stood and slowly shook his head, still smiling. —Well, some the walkers and floppers come from Old Mother Storch. Not so many anymore though. Mostly they come up from the Bottom—floppers, flappers, haystacks, all the others. Ones from Mother Storch used to last longer. Her best could even talk. They got more real blood n’em, like you and me.”
Scott Nicolay, Tuckahoe
This week is all Gods! If you've followed my blog for a while you'll know I draw "creatures" smaller (approx: 8.5"x 5.5") and "Gods" larger (approx: 8.5" x 11"). My internal taxonomy is that if something is described as if it's from a species or group of similar things, that gets treated as a creature; smaller, naked, simple. If something is described as singular or explicitly as a God or God-type entity, it gets drawn larger and with some accoutrements.

This one isn't really described in the story above but it was done for my friend Alice's birthday. She saw & loved all the Tuckahoe creatures in progress and requested a drawing for her birthday. I went wild and made a singular version of those creeps with much more detail. It was really fun and she loved it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE!
