SENTIENT POLYHEDRON

SENTIENT POLYHEDRON
"Two of the less irrelevantly moving things - a rather large congeries of iridescent, prolately spheroidal bubbles and a very much smaller polyhedron of unknown colours and rapidly shifting surface angles - seemed to take notice of him and follow him about or float ahead as he changed position among the titan prisms, labyrinths, cube-and-plane clusters and quasi-buildings"
H.P. Lovecraft, Dreams In the Witch-House

Hey there folks! This week will be a whole bunch of redrawing of Lovecraftian monsters. I've been looking at my very old work and decided to redraw at least the first 50 monsters from this series. That may seem weird but a lot of these were originally drawn over 10 years ago. And while I'm not great, I've definitely gotten better. This may seem like a lot but I've already redrawn  & posted 29 of my first 50 monsters. So it's only 21 more to go.

This sentient polyhedron is a good example. I really do like my original design but I wanted to give the wrinkle pattern more of an organic swirl and I wanted to give the two dangling "arms" more movement.

The creatures from Dreams In the Witch-House are astoundingly bizarre and among some of my favorites of HPL's creations: living bubble clusters, polyhedrons and arabesques!? Top notch.

Tomorrow's a really bizarre creature from one of HPL's posthumous "collaborations" with August Derleth. Bad story, interesting monster.
