NAMELESS THING

NAMELESS THING
"Black monstrous bridges across oily rivers,
Cobwebs of cable by nameless things spun;
Catacomb deeps whose dank chaos delivers
Streams of live foetor, that rots in the sun."
H.P. Lovecraft, The Cats

This redrawing is another just cleanup of linework & rendering.

I was particularly happy with the design for the weirdo. I just let myself go all out and make something surreal and nauseating. I know the suggestion is a spider-type creature, but I'd already drawn so many at this point I wanted to do something completely original. The idea that these things spin cobwebs from their tongues and from both ends at the same time really delighted me.

 Because this one is an obscure reference to an obscure poem, this is the only depiction of this that's out there. You could make an argument that there's no indication that this is supposed to be a distinct being the the pantheon and I'd mostly agree. In the end, this was just an excuse for me to make a weird guy.

Tomorrow we reach the end of our three weeks worth of redrawings. And it's another obscure weirdo!
