"At the lower right, those unfortunates who have already been found unworthy are subjected to a variety of torments, some inflicted by beasts of the artist’s invention. The scene contains droll details — for example, one wide-eyed monster has seized the leg of a hapless human and pulls eagerly — that suggest that Jan Provost brought a certain humor to this richly detailed, colorful, and dramatic composition."

*This demon is inspired by the painting The Last Judgment by Jan Provost (1525).
Another Last Judgment. If you're looking for renaissance demons in paintings the best searches are "The Last Judgment", "The Temptation Of St. Anthony" & "St. Michael Defeating the Devil". There are hundreds of versions of each idea all by different painters with different ideas of what demons should look like.

Jan Provost was a Dutch master with a style similar to other Dutch painters (namely Bosch) and his demons look the part. However, I couldn't get over this egg guy. His big eyes and foppish boots, not to mention his overall appearance of a guy half emerged from an egg, all make him kinda goofy.
Again, this image is the standard composition for a Last Judgment painting with Jesus up top and the saintly & sinners on either side.
